Pecan Trees
« on: March 28, 2020, 01:34:26 PM »
I planted pecan trees in my yard a couple of years ago. Last spring I went to a Mother Earth Conference and heard the Tree Dr. speak on how to plant trees and I learned that I planted mine way too deep!  Six inches too deep!! So I came home and dug out the dirt but they have a bowl around them now and I am not sure how that will work long term. I think they are too big to dig up, but not sure. I also have a couple of them that have damage to the base of the tree and are developing a scar. Can the tree still survive long term? I don't know tree terminology. I have four. One died. They are now about 9-10 feet tall. I will see if I can email the Tree Dr. He is in Texas. It was a great talk on trees.
