We are starting a food hub!

Now what is a food hub?  The definition from the national good food network says a food hub is a business or organization that actively manages the bringing together, distribution and marketing of food products from local regional producers to strengthen their ability to satisfy demand.

So what does that mean for us?  We are going to start a new distribution point for locally grown food at Collinsville, Wills Valley Family Medicine, on Tuesdays.  We will be posting details in the next few days as to how to order food, pay for food and when to pick up food.  Pick up time will likely be 3-5 pm each Tuesday.

If we only start with 3-5 families we will be excited!  Hopefully, as word spreads we can grow into a great place for local farmers to distribute food weekly.  As soon as I have the ordering web site it will be posted.  Thanksgiving is a busy week for most so we will not start distribution until December 6th.
