The Rules are the most important message on this entire website!
The rules are simple.
But playing by the rules is much harder!
Eating is not about calories in calories out.
It is about eating the right foods.
- The number one rule is to replace unhealthy fats.
Unhealthy fats:
What are unhealthy fats? Bottled hydrogenated oils, margarine and low-quality olive oil.
Healthy fats:
What are the healthy fats? Fats from animals, birds, fish and plants that are not processed.
High quality olive oil and other cold pressed oils, nuts, avocados and coconuts.
Healthy fats keep your brain healthy.
Healthy fats keep your joints healthy.
Healthy fats keep you from getting hungry too soon.
2. Rule number two is to get processed foods out of your diet.
Eat real food.
What constitutes processed foods? This will be the hardest part to understand and the hardest to do. But many foods we eat today are processed, even including some gluten-free, sugar-free and keto foods.
3. Rule number three is to take out sugar.
Get as much out of your diet as you can.
What does “sugar” mean? Sugar includes: white sugar, brown sugar, many diet sugars, high fructose corn syrup, and others.
What foods act like sugar? Many grains are highly processed, finely milled, and act like sugar in our bodies. These are foods with wheat, rice and corn. Other finely ground grains also increase blood sugar quickly. The consumption of these grains can sometimes contribute to chronic diseases.
That is it!
The hard part is that unhealthy foods, processed foods and sugar are everywhere. Some consider many of the foods we eat to be non-foods.
Although it is challenging, we will repeat these rules over and over so you can learn and understand how to eat to improve your health.
